Cooperative Member Spotlight: Aimee Moehring

As we celebrate October Cooperative Month, we’re shining a spotlight on the heart of GENEX – our members. Each of our members plays a vital role in driving innovation and success in the dairy and beef industries, and we’re proud to highlight their dedication and hard work. This month, we’re excited to share the stories behind the farms that make our cooperative strong, showcase the unique contributions of our members, and highlight how GENEX has partnered with them on their journey.

Join us as we celebrate the power of cooperation and the inspiring individuals behind it!

Aimee Moehring

Waldo, Wisconsin

Tell us about your farm:
I farm with my brother and sister-in-law. We milk 90 Holsteins and Jerseys. Cows are housed on a compost pack. We run 275 acres and finish 20 steers per year, which are mostly direct marketed.

My husband works off the farm. We have two boys, ages 4 & 6.

How long have you been a member of GENEX?
Our farm has been a GENEX member since the early 1990s.

What do you like about being part of a cooperative?
I enjoy being part of a cooperative because it allows its members to be engaged and grow. The cooperative structure allows me to be a delegate, which has taught me so much about GENEX as a company and helped me network with dairy and beef farmers from around the country.

What are your favorite GENEX products or services?
We have used mainly GENEX semen for over 30 years. I appreciate their balanced, profit approach to sires. We also use RumiLife® CAL24™ calcium boluses, calf coats and breeding supplies.

What advice would you give to a farmer considering joining GENEX?
Join! And then strongly consider becoming a delegate. It connects you to the company and new programs and products that become available. You will also learn so much from meeting and getting to know other farmers from around the world.

How does being a member of GENEX benefit your farm’s long-term sustainability or profitability?
GENEX provides sires to produce fertile, productive, profitable cows. The semen quality is second to none. Economical, high fertility beef semen has also been a benefit to our dairy.

GENEX member-elected delegates attended the cooperative's annual meeting in March. The annual meeting is one of several opportunities for the membership to provide input and feedback to the council and executive team. Every day, but especially during Cooperative Month, we thank you for the vital role you play in driving innovation and success at GENEX.
