Each year, GENEX recognizes five employees or distributors who exemplify our core values. These recipients show a dedication to their cooperative and live out the principles that define GENEX. Congratulations to this year’s winners!
Javier Cheang’s work as an AI Training Instructor personifies excellence. Javier spearheads AI training for the largest and most progressive dairy producers in the Eastern U.S. and is integral in the development of outstanding on-farm breeders and breeding teams. He brings an infectious smile and “can do” attitude to his work that rubs off on his trainees. To successfully train across different languages, cultures and skill levels is not easy, and his ability to connect with people goes unmatched; he makes it look easy with his calm demeanor and attention to details.
International Customer Support Manager Kyle Alexander’s work ethic is second to none. In his 40 years at GENEX and predecessors, he has filled many roles and has embraced the challenges handed to him. You will not find a more humble person than Kyle. He has an enormous drive for what is best for the cooperative’s members and customers and always credits his team with achievements. He is the perfect example of the farmer’s spirit; Kyle and his team keep going until the hay is in the barn. He does the right things, day in and day out, and comes to work at the crack of daylight and doesn’t leave until the work is done. Through his 40 years with the cooperative, he has been a servant leader and a loyal worker. This award is well deserved as Kyle nears retirement at the end of 2020.
Li Baozhu serves as the General Manager of the GENEX distributor Beijing Xiangzhong and is a tremendous asset. Under Li, Xiangzhong was first in the Chinese dairy industry to promote strategic breeding and among the first genetic companies to build a technical team. Li is creative and forward thinking; he is currently using his food industry connections to build a beef on dairy program to utilize the Chinese crossbreeding market. Through Li’s leadership, Xiangzhong became not only the number one distributor for GENEX but an industry leader throughout China. Li led his team to achieving an estimated 25% of total market share and becoming the biggest genetic supplier among mega-herds in China. Most important, Li is committed to the GENEX culture; he embraces the co-op spirit and implements all GENEX products and programs where possible.
Dalton Tupper has transitioned from Territory Sales Manager to Dairy Account Manager and Consultant and carried out the GENEX core values in both roles. He has a tireless work ethic; Dalton’s day starts early and extends into the night as he makes sure all his customers have semen, supplies and the reproductive and genetic solutions they value. He also works relentlessly to make sure he is an expert in everything he does and delivers nothing but excellence. In the last few years, Dalton has grown business exponentially in Florida and southern Georgia by becoming the region’s recognized expert on beef x dairy breeding programs. Additionally, he continuously battles misinformation distributed by others and does it with integrity. He’s a team player focused on the bigger picture and helping GENEX and our members succeed.
GENEX Brand Manager Jenny Hanson is a strong leader with a work ethic that cannot be outdone and will do whatever it takes for the betterment of the cooperative. Jenny’s the kind of worker who rolls up her sleeves and doesn’t stop until the job is done. She is a class act who always responds with tact, integrity and respect. She is someone who can be trusted to not just do her job but to excel in it. She leads by example and pushes not only herself but those she works with to soar to heights most think are unattainable. Nearly everything you see with the GENEX logo has been touched or influenced by Jenny in some capacity; she is not only the GENEX Brand Manager but a GENEX influencer who has influenced countless areas of the cooperative.
